CONCORD ó Dr. Jed Baker, an author and authority on autism and who has been featured on “20/20” and ABC’s “Nightline,” will discuss social skills, early intervention and managing challenging behavior at home and school at a seminar Friday.
The Future Horizons Conference on Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome will be at Embassy Suites Hotel Charlotte-Concord Golf Resort & Spa, 5400 John Q. Hammons Drive, N.W. It begins at 8:15 a.m. Friday and lasts until 4:30 p.m.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, autism is the second most frequently occurring serious developmental disability. An average 1 in 150 children in the U.S. have an autism spectrum disorder.
This is an opportunity for local parents, teachers or caregivers who work with children who have autism to learn more.
