A vehicle hit a Duke Energy utility pole Thursday night on N.C. 801 knocking out power in a portion of western Rowan County.
The one-car accident occurred about 10:25 p.m. at 11950 Highway 801 near Graham Road.
A woman in the car was first reported to be pinned in, but she was free of the vehicle as emergency responders arrived.
Her injuries were not thought to be serious.
The utility pole was broken and power lines were down because of the accident. West Rowan firefighters responded along with Rowan County EMS and the highway patrol.
