STATESVILLE ó The Evening Farmers Market in Pecan Park will host Squash & Cucumber Night on June 25 starting at 4 p.m.
Summer vegetables are abundant and everyone is searching for new ways to use these vegetables in their menus. People attending the market can sample recipes using cucumber and summer squash. Squash may be sautéed, steamed, boiled, baked, grilled, stuffed or deep fried, served as a side or main dish.
Hosts will also display how to use cucumbers for a cooling facial and eye soother as well as a delicious meal addition.
In-season produce now available at the market includes cucumbers, squash, eggplant, tomatoes, herb plants and fresh-cut herbs, perennial plants, flowers, homemade baked goods, ostrich meat, eggs, handmade soaps, lotions and more.
The Farmers Market also offers entertainment.
