Cooking demonstration Saturday at Farmers Market

Kris Reid, a student from Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, will do a cooking demonstration Saturday morning at the Salisbury Farmers Market.
Reid will use fresh vegetables and meats from local vendors at the market beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing until 11 a.m. with cooking information and creative recipes.
Reid, a native of Los Angeles, promotes local food through farmers market cooking demonstrations, dedicating her time to a non-profit in Charlotte to rebuild their garden and green house spaces, while maintaining her own backyard garden.
In Los Angeles, Reid was employed by NutriFit, working under Chef Jackie Keller, sparking her interest in educating the public on cooking techniques with a focus on nutrition and great taste. While in Los Angeles, Reid conducted several demos a month for major corporate clients such as The American Heart Association, Northrop Grumman, Boeing, Blue Cross, as well as numerous law firms and doctors’ offices.
