Grammy Award winning producer John P. Kee will be one of the featured speakers at a weeklong camp meeting hosted by Outreach Christian Ministries.
The services will be June 14-21 at 722 W. Horah St. Kee, of Charlotte, will speak 7:30 p.m. Monday.
“It’s a week of services to bring together the church and ministries for fellowship, teaching and instruction,” Apostle Ray E. Taylor said.
Taylor, pastor and founder of Outreach Christian Ministries, has known Kee for years.
“He was ordained and licensed under this ministry in 1990,” Taylor said.
Taylor’s eldest daughter, Jeanette Taylor, also works as Kee’s administrative director at his church, New Life Fellowship Center.
“He opens the conference every year. This is his seventh or eighth year,” Taylor said.
Kee is also a Dove award winner, which is an honor bestowed by the Gospel Music Association for outstanding achievements in Christian music.
He is a recipient of the Stellar Gospel Music Award, which is an award that showcases top gospel artists.
In 2007, Kee was inducted into the Christian Music Hall of Fame.
Other guests include ministers from Tanzania. One of the African ministers is Bishop Solomon Njijmoja, who is director of Fellowship of Revival Churches International (FORC), where Taylor is the founder and president.
The fellowship has chapters in Nigeria, Kenya and parts of South Africa. Njijmoja will be accompanied by six other ministers and church members from Tanzania.
It is the visitors’ first time to Salisbury and the United States.
The guests are staying in Salisbury June 14-29.
The camp meeting services will culminate a Founders/Birthday Celebration on June 20.
In years past, the church typically celebrated this week of June as Founders Week. Taylor’s birthday also falls on the weekend service.
The church has been having the camp meeting for the past 22 years.
Taylor has been in ministry for more than 48 years. He and is wife, Alease Taylor, travel throughout Africa and the United States ministering to thousands.
“Through it all I learn to trust in Jesus,” Taylor said of continuing in ministry. He doesn’t look at ministry as a job.
“It’s always a pleasure to minister,” he said.

– June 19, Bishop Solomon Njijmoja, 7:30 p.m.
– June 20, TBA, 7:30 p.m.
– June 21, Dan Nicholas Park, 11 a.m. service and lunch following.
