A China Grove man was arrested Thursday on five counts of second-degree kidnapping, one count of first-degree sex offense, five counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of first-degree burglary.
Paul Eugene Henry, 38, of 430 Knight Farm Road, was placed under $200,000 secured bond pending a first appearance hearing today in Rowan County District Court, according to arrest reports. All of the offenses are alleged to have occurred on March 17.
Henry is charged with kidnapping David Matthew Corriher, Ramiro Pacheco Pina, Gaston Guevara, Steven Earl Webb and a woman with whom he is charged with committing the first-degree sexual offense. All of the victims were confined, restrained and terrorized for the purpose of robbery with a dangerous weapon, the reports say.
Henry is charged with using a .22 caliber Smith and Wesson when robbing Corriher. A total of $50 was taken in the robbery. He is also charged with using a .22 caliber revolver in the robbery of Webb, when $400 was taken.
A Kel-Tec .380 caliber pistol was used in other robberies. The female victim had nothing taken; Pina had $905 taken; and Gaston Guevara had an unknown amount of currency taken.
Henry was charged with first-degree burglary between midnight and 2 a.m. at the residence of Pina at 8135 Smith Road, Kannapolis.
