The National Active and Retired Federal Employees of Salisbury, Chapter 0720, will celebrate its 50th anniversary June 15 at Rufty-Holmes Senior Center, 1120 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., at 1 p.m. in the Addie Rhem Morris room.
NARFE invites all members to attend the event. Non-members are welcome also. Chapter 0720 was chartered June 15, 1959, with Eugene Danner, president; C.B. Satterwhite, vice president; and H.C. Hubbard, secretary-treasurer. Other members at the time of charter were Anne Arey, J.E. Beeker, Williams S. Beeker, Tom C. Blalock, Clarence L. Fink, F.L. Harmon, D.E. Murphy, Sam N. Nash, A.L. Poston, W.H. Terpening and C.W. Whilhelm.
NARFE President Annie Boone-Carroll requests that if anyone knows relatives of the charter members, let her know so she can send an invitation to them. Guests for this event will be Salisbury Mayor Susan Kluttz; Elaine Hughes, N.C. Federation president; Sue Hawkins, Area II vice president.
The PCS Trio will provide jazz music.
NARFE is asking all curent members to bring a covered dish of vegetables or dessert. Meats will be provided by the chapter.
