Baker Road woman reports attempted arson, burglary

Teresa Treadway Reyes reported that someone broke into her home at 625 Baker Road and attempted to burn down her residence with the aid of Crisco cooking oil.
The attempt was unsuccessful, but several items were stolen, including a camera card, other consumable food items, video game system, DVD player, VCR and $500 worth of DVDs.
Capt. John Sifford of the Rowan County Sherriff’s Office said Reyes left her residence at 5:15 on May 26 and returned May 27 to find her residence had been ransacked and the door broken in.
