The 14th annual meeting of the LandTrust for Central North Carolina will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Charles T. Hagan Sea Scout Camp in Davidson County.
The Old North State Council camp on the Davidson County shores of High Rock Lake specializes in water sports for Scouts, including canoeing, sailing, fishing and motor-boating.
The program schedule Saturday includes the annual meeting and year in review at 10:30 a.m., an 11 a.m. presentation by Corky Gray on the history of the Hagan Sea Scout Camp, an 11:30 a.m. tour of the camp and a noon barbecue lunch.
Casual dress is recommended.
Boat rides will be offered after lunch to anyone interested.
Here are directions to the camp from Salisbury:
Travel north on Interstate 85 to Exit 91 (the Southmont, N.C. 8 exit). Turn right onto N.C. 8 and go approximately 8 miles to Southmont. Turn right onto the Wildlife Recreation Area Access Road, which is the second road past the Southmont Post Office. Cross the railroad tracks and go to the road’s dead end. Turn left, then right onto Scout Road. Proceed six-tenths of a mile and look for the white wooden gate on the left side of the road. Turn left into the camp.
