N.C. State University’s ninth annual Vermiculture Conference will be June 4-5 at Durham Public Schools Staff Development Center in Durham.
This is the only training on mid-to-large scale vermicomposting in the U.S. Included will be the latest research on the effects of worm castings and tea on plant growth and disease suppression, how to effectively market worms and castings, and hear from seasoned worm growers about their personal experiences.
There will be panel discussions and informal networking opportunities.
You will learn about vermicomposting techniques and equipment used, including:
– How to raise earthworms;
– Vermicomposting technologies;
– Benefits and uses of vermicompost;
– Research studies of vermicompost;
– Marketing products;
– Testing vermicompost, soil and feedstocks;
– Brewing and using vermicompost tea;
– Class A stabilization of biosolids through vermicomposting.
There will also be a fieldtrip to see an operation that sells worms, vermicompost and tea.
