The waves of thunderstorms that hit the area yesterday left many without power.
Duke Power reported that Rowan County had 4,900 customers without power as of 7 p.m. Thursday night.
More than 45,000 customers in total were without power across the region with the majority occurring in the Greenville, S.C., area.
Duke Power reported this afternoon 267 customers in Rowan and 26 in Cabarrus are still without power but they expect all power should be restored by 5 p.m. today.
