High school wrestling: Falcons rule SPC tournament

CONCORD — South Piedmont Conference regular season champ West Rowan’s male wrestlers added the SPC tournament championship to the school trophy case on Saturday.

West scored 295 points. Other team scores were Carson (123), South Rowan (106), Concord (102), Central Cabarrus (90), East Rowan (87), Northwest Cabarrus (60) and host Robinson (19)

West wrestlers won 10 of the 14 weight classes.

West’s Jathan Roby (113), Mark Truman (120), Andrew Taylor (126), Kevin O’Brien (138), Stetson Collins (144), Connor Misenheimer (157), Eli Jenkins (165), Mason Kincaid (175), Hunter Miller (215) and Grayson Burleson (Hwt.) were conference champions.

South Rowan’s Garrison Raper won at 106 pounds.

Carson’s Parker Mills won at 132.

East Rowan’s Shayden Edwards won at 150.

Concord’s Alex Petroff won at 190.

West got runner-up points from Landon Spicer (132) and Dakota Athey (190).

Carson had runner-up finishes from Joseph Little (106), Griffin Barber (150) and Elijah Morgan (165)

East Rowan got second-place finishes from Alex Luna (126), Christian Seballos (138) and Max Mitchell (157).
