Salisbury man charged with firing shots into occupied house

SALISBURY — On Oct. 19, 2024, police received a report that gunshots had been fired in the 6000-block of Long Branch Road.

Deputies from the Rowan County Sheriff’s office responded to the call and found about 12 bullet holes in the victim’s house, but no one had been injured.

Investigators recovered evidence at the scene and identified 25-year-old Aric Bryce Herring of Salisbury as a suspect. Investigators confirming their suspicion through laboratory testing and Herring was taken into custody on March 12. He was charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling and was released the following day on a $15,000 secured bond.
