GRANITE QUARRY — East Rowan rolled to its seventh straight win, blasting West Rowan 11-0 in five innings at Staton Field in South Piedmont Conference action.

East scored double-digit runs for the ninth time.

East (10-2, 6-1) got shutout pitching from Harrison Ailshie (4-0). A junior committed to UNC, Ailshie struck out five with no walks and allowed four hits. He has yet to allow an earned run this season.

East took charge right away, jumping on the Falcons (9-3, 6-2) for three runs in the first inning and turning the game into a romp with a seven-run third.

Krys Hernandez stayed red-hot with three hits and two RBIs. Sam Blackwelder drove in four runs. Mason Phelps had two hits and two RBIs.

Ailshie walked twice and scored twice. Logan Bradley had two hits.

Ailshie, Bradley, Hernandez and Braylen Ketchie had doubles.

Carter Durant had two of West’s four hits.

Cole Blevins (2-1) and Eli Graham pitched for the Falcons.

LANDIS — South Rowan held on for an exciting 5-4 win against Carson in South Piedmont Conference action.

Carson (4-7, 3-4) had runners at second and third with one out in the seventh, but Colton Helms held the lead for his first save. He ended the game with a called strikeout.

South (7-3, 5-2) survived four errors, two of them in the seventh inning.

Catawba recruit Marshal Faw (2-1) pitched five strong innings for the Raiders, striking out 11 with two walks. He allowed three hits.

Carson scored three runs in the top of the third, but South came right back for four in the bottom half of the inning. South added an insurance run in the fifth that proved decisive.

Carson turned in a clean fielding game, but with 14 strikeouts, it was tough to manufacture offense.

Carson Kirk scored twice for the Cougars. Corbin Hales knocked in two. Gavin Hopkins and Ryan Snyder had RBIs.

Maverick Walters (0-2) took the loss on the mound. He pitched into the fifth inning with four walks and four strikeouts. Hales got six outs and gave the Cougars a chance to come back.

Davis Kemp and Lucas Cox had two hits for South. Cox and Brandon Winkler drove in two runs each. Conner Coy had a triple, while Cox had a double.

THOMASVILLE – North Rowan had a promising start on the road with a five-run first inning, but Thomasville came back with seven in the first and 11 in the second and outscored the Cavaliers 22-11.

Matthew Bankhead had four hits for the Bulldogs (4-6, 2-0) in the Central Carolina Conference contest.

Dylan Garrigus had two doubles and two RBIs for North (3-5, 2-2).

Zion Gillespie had three hits, scored two runs and knocked in three. Chase Cauble had two hits and scored three runs. Zane Smith scored twice.

TYRO — Salisbury lost 14-4 to West Davidson in Central Carolina Conference action.

Asher Johnson struck out 11 Hornets in a game that went six innings.

Ny’Gel Elliott and Hank Webb had two hits for the Hornets (0-7, 0-2).

West Davidson is 4-6, 2-0.

MOORESVILLE — Lake Norman scored in the bottom of the seventh to beat A.L. Brown 2-1 in a Greater Metro Conference game.

Caden Beaver and Morgan McGuire got the job done on the mound for the Wildcats (9-2, 4-0).

Matthew Blume pitched a strong game for the Wonders (2-7, 0-4).
