Kannapolis adds three new firefighters

KANNAPOLIS — Three new firefighters, Jacob Collins, Tyler Hayes and Jason Tighe, have recently joined the Kannapolis Fire Department.
They have all completed all the necessary training to be firefighters with the department and were officially sworn in and pinned during a special ceremony held at the Swanee Theatre. Families and members of the Kannapolis fire department were in attendance to welcome the new recruits.
Jacob Collins previously served six year as a firefighter with the China Grove Fire Department. He is assigned to Engine 51 at Station 5. He is the son of Jeremy and Shanna Collins.
Tyler Hayes began his career as a firefighter when he moved to North Carolina from New Jersey five years ago. He is assigned to Engine 31 at Station 3.
Jason Tighe also moved from New Jersey to North Carolina. He and his wife, have two children. He is assigned to Engine 41 at Station 4.
