Local golf: Shuping qualifies for Carolina Mid-Amateur

ARCHDALE — Logan Shuping shot 2-over 74 at Holly Ridge Golf Links on Monday and qualified to play in the Carolina Mid-Amateur.
Shuping made three birdies and five bogeys.
The top 13 and ties advanced. Shuping finished in a tie for seventh. The cut line fell at 4-over 76.
The Carolina Mid-Amateur will be played at Waynesville Inn and Golf Club on April 11-13.
Shuping, 27, is a Rockwell resident.
He was a star at East Rowan High and won the Rowan County Championship at Corbin Hills as a freshman in 2013 and at Warrior as a senior in 2016.
He played college golf at East Carolina.
