SALISBURY — The Family Crisis Council has two important events coming up in the Community Appreciation Breakfast on April 11 and the One in 5k on April 12.
The One in 5k fundraiser will be held on Saturday, April 12, at the Salisbury Community Park, 935 Hurley School Rd. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. on that day and run through 8:45 a.m. The race will begin at 9 a.m.
Tickets for the 5k will be $25 and tickets for the fun run will be $10 and include a T-shirt. Same-day registration will be $30.
The name for the event comes from the fact that one in five women and one in 13 men experience sexual violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime.
Anyone interested in participating can register at runsignup.com/Race/NC/Salisbury/Onein5k.
The Salisbury-Rowan Runners are assisting with the event.
The Community Appreciation Breakfast is scheduled for Friday, April 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
