Wednesday games …
GRANITE QUARRY — East Rowan won 7-6 against South Iredell in a non-conference game.
South Iredell scored six runs in the first inning but didn’t score again as East (12-2) got shutout relief pitching from Keaton Walker and Harrison Ailshie (5-0). They pitched three innings apiece. Ailshie struck out seven of the 12 batters he faced.
East got four runs back in the bottom of the first and scored single runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh. Hunter Goodman produced the RBI for the walk-off win.
Krys Hernandez hit a home run in the first inning, his first of the season.
Zeke Stewart had three hits, including a double, and two RBIs. Goodman had two hits and two RBIs. Hernandez and Walker had two hits. Braylen Ketchie scored twice.

MOUNT PLEASANT — West Rowan overcame Mount Pleasant’s six-run second inning and posted an 11-7 non-conference victory.
Carter Durant went 5-for-5 with three doubles, three runs and three RBIs. Luke Ponczka had four hits and four RBIs for the Falcons (11-3).
Ponczka, Cole Blevins and Brice Knox had doubles.
Blevins had two hits and scored twice. Eli Graham scored two runs.
Brant Graham (2-1) had a super relief outing for the Falcons. He entered the game in the second inning and struck out nine.

CHINA GROVE – Carson won a 1-0 pitchers’ duel against Central Davidson.
The Carson pitcher was a surprise as sophomore left-hander Jacob Prevette was making his varsity debut.
Prevette allowed three hits and no walks in five innings. He struck out six.
Corbin Hales pitched the seventh for the save.
Hales knocked in Jayden Goff win the fifth with the only run of the game.
The Cougars (6-7) won despite getting only two hits. Carson Kirk and Cam Williamson had the hits.

GREENSBORO — Salisbury (1-9) struggled in a 13-1, five-inning loss to Page.
Ben Young and Evan Koontz had the only hits for the Hornets.

KANNAPOLIS — Nick Laws turned in a dominating mound performance as A.L. Brown beat CATA 10-0.
CJ Gray swung a big bat for the Wonders with three hits, including a homer.
