SALISBURY — The Rowan Chamber of Commerce announced that more than 20 business and community leaders participated in the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance trip to Raleigh on Tuesday. This one-day trip allows chamber leaders to meet with cabinet officials and members of the General Assembly and advocate for the community’s Priority Projects.

“It’s important for our state officials to know what we are doing to improve our own community and how they can best help us,” Chamber Business Advocacy Chair Karla Foster Leonard (New Pointe Realty) said. “The meetings we conducted highlighted Rowan’s priority projects, featuring the Northern Rowan Connector project, which will provide better transportation access for East Spencer, Spencer and High Rock Lake.”

The meetings started at noon in Raleigh with local state legislators: Sen. Carl Ford, Rep. Harry Warren, and Rep. Grant Campbell. From 1-5 p.m. various meetings were held with Senate and House leadership and Cabinet level officials. The Chamber group joined the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance for a reception at 6 p.m. and returned to Salisbury around 9:30 p.m.
