GRANITE QUARRY — East Rowan beat West Stanly 4-2 in a non-conference game at Staton Field.

East led 2-0 early. The Colts (10-5) tied it in the top of the fifth. East scored the decisive run in the bottom of the fifth with aggressive base-running and added an insurance run in the sixth.

East (14-3) only had four hits. Logan Bradley keyed the offense with two hits, including a double. He had three RBIs.

Zeke Stewart was hit by pitches twice and scored two runs.

Starter Brady Ailshie pitched well. He struck out four and allowed two runs. He was relieved with two outs in the fifth by his older brother. Harrison Ailshie (6-0) pitched the rest of the game, striking out four and allowing one hit. His last two wins for the UNC commit have come in relief.

SPENCER — Evan Koontz struck out 11 in four innings as Salisbury won 11-1 against North Rowan in Central Carolina Conference action.

The Hornets (3-11, 3-3) got hits from Tack Thurman, Hank Webb and Landon Tucker.

Anders Thompson had the only hit for the Cavaliers (3-8, 2-4) and drove in the run. Chase Cauble took the loss.

NEW LONDON — CJ Gray was a bright spot for A.L. Brown with three hits, including a homer, in a 16-6 loss to North Stanly. The Wonders are 4-10.

The Comets are 14-0.
