KANNAPOLIS — A single car ran off Wright Road early this morning according to NC State Highway Patrol, ending in the deaths of two Kannapolis residents,

According to officials, Bobby Joe Robbins, 39, and Christopher Bobby Joe Doster, 25, were both killed in the accident. Reports indicate the driver was traveling north on the roadway when he crossed the center line, overcorrected and ran off the right side of the road. The vehicle overturned multiple times.

Investigators have said speed was the primary contributing factor. They also believe the crash happened around 4 a.m. but was not discovered until just before 7 a.m. They were unable to determine which of the men was driving.
