WAYNESVILLE — Logan Shuping (East Rowan, East Carolina) missed the cut by one stroke in the Carolinas Mid-Amateur being held at Waynesville Inn and Golf Club.

Shuping shot two 5-over 76s.

Shuping made five bogeys and 13 pars on Friday.

On Saturday, he made a birdie on No. 11, but it couldn’t offset six bogeys.

He finished two rounds at 152. The cut line for playing the final round on Sunday fell at 151.

Brett McLamb (Lillington) won the event on a playoff hole. He shot 70-69-70.

The course was damaged last fall by Hurricane Helene but has been restored.
