GREENSBORO — South Rowan freshman running back Jayden Arthur was named the top offensive combo underclassman at the second Carolinas Coaches Combine hosted by Page High School.
Nine South players competed, and South head coach Chris Walsh was one of the coaches for the event.
The combine is a venture that involves the North Carolina Coaches Association, the North Carolina Football Coaches Association, the NCCA East-West All-Star Game and the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas. The purpose is to identify players who will be selected to the all-star games.
Arthur, who split his time between the varsity and jayvee teams at South, put his name on some lists for the future.
Coaches on the staffs of the 2025 Shrine Bowl and East-West All-Star Game evaluated the players.
Hickory High School will another combine in two weeks. Princeton hosted one in late March.
Richmond receiver Jayden Hamilton won the event’s MVP award.

South’s conference foes will be Salisbury, Carson, West Rowan, East Rowan, Concord, Northwest Cabarrus and Robinson.
South’s non-conference schedule will include Union Academy, Langtree Charter and Trinity.
